Just a few weeks away from the district meet, the cross country team has already pulled in several awards this season.
Senior Chubaka Bahindwa placed tenth overall at the Brandeis meet last Saturday finishing also in the top eight at the North East meet.

“I feel good that I was in eighth over all 200 runners, excited and confident about what I’m doing,” Bahindwa said.
Bahindwa’s team was excited and happy for him, cheering him on and telling him he better place.
The team travels together with their Spider Man and cheers each other as they start and finish.
Senior Jeanna Mullen has also brought in awards this season, finishing the North East meet with a personal record time of 21 minutes for the three-mile race, as well as helping to carry the varsity girls to a sixth place finish at the Central Catholic relays. She finished the Northside meet with 19:44 in 12th place.
‘‘Cross Country is really challenging at the same time and challenges you physically and mentally,” Mullen said.
She is looking forward make it to the district and making it to the regionals.
Junior Sara Lopez finished Northside with a time of 20:38.

“I actually joined cross country because the love of running, I look forward to having fun and improving my skills,” Lopez said. ‘I love running the most because it helps me let everything out stress and it’s a reliever”.
Junior Kelly Kindla came in with a time of 21:13 at Northside.
“I joined cross country this year because of my coach he encouraged me,” Kindla said.
Their coach, Corey Bedell does encourage them and helps them to make decisions to help them succeed. Bahindwa will actually sit out this week to rest a hurt ankle.
The rest of the runners will compete this Saturday in Seguin.
