Last week the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) team went to Austin for competition. HOSA students participated in health academic challenges such as medical terminology, creative problem solving and also skill challenges which involved Team Emergency Medical Technician skills.
The students did a lot of work to get to Austin; they fundraised after school almost everyday, and also had to hit the books for the skill based knowledge they needed to make it to regionals.
HOSA received many awards at their competition this past Friday, they took first place with one team, second place with another, three people took fourth place, and one person took fifth.
“I’m absolutely proud of my HOSA students, they did very well,” HOSA sponsor, Deborah Ramirez said.
As her first year being head sponsor she said that it was nerve-wracking for her, but absolutely a joy seeing the students winning their competitions.
