Lady Riders Volleyball had a great start in non district games. Their record was strong at the end of non district, and the team carried that confidence into district play.
“Non district our chemistry was great and we played together,” senior Serenity Ramos said.
The team clicked on all cylinders but towards the end of non district, the Lady Riders began to lose that chemistry. When district play started and the girls just lost all the chemistry, they didn’t finish games, they said. The girls are yet to win a game in district but they still believe they can make a run. There are still many games to turn this season around for the girls.
“This season hasn’t been too good but we still believe we can get back on track,” senior Maddy Flores said.
Frustration is a factor in sports and emotions getting the best of you can lead to a loss. The girls admit this season they get frustrated but when it is all said and done, they stick together and grind it out.
“It’s frustrating for me as a coach because I want to see them succeed,” Coach Lori Ibarra said.
The girls will play Reagan High School Sept. 28. A win for the Riders would be huge and turn around their season. They hope people will come out and support because Rider pride is still alive.
