This year’s golf team has had quite the year. They did their best but had just a bit of an off year. The good news is that each student had fun with it.
Robert Pitcel, sophomore, was the only winner of a tournament this year. He won the North East Classic at Northern Hills.
“I had alot of fun with golf this year.It got me involved with a lot of good people. It teaches patience ad believe it or not, requires athletic skill,” JT Kamps, Sophomore on Varsity golf, said.
Golf has eight tournaments a year. They play all schools in 26-5A. They also won a playoff and tied for first.
“I had a lot of fun in golf this year. I might go back to golf next year too and would definitely be nice to see some new faces!” Elizabeth Hall, Freshman on the Varsity golf team, said.
Two senior girls that played very well all year got solid scores. Coach Hale thinks a student, Serenity Ramos, Sophomore on Junior Varsity golf, has a good opportunity to advance to Varsity team next year.
“We are really looking for new golfers for the 2011-2012 school year! It would be great to have some new faces! Varsity golfers improved alot this year and we had two top five finishes this year. I’m really proud of everyone! Good job!” Coach Wesley Hale, Golf coach and Social Studies teacher, said.
