Alot of people take things for granted. There are people everywhere that don’t know how good they have it.
It’s usually when you loose something that you realize how good it was. There are kids that don’t have clothes or even a home. Yet, other kids are complaining that it’s not enough.
“I always get what I want, always have. No questions asked. My dad always babied me when I was small and he just hasn’t stopped. So I’m sort of used to having things done my way,” Selena Griego, freshman, said.
A lot of people say they act spoiled because that’s the way they’ve always been treated by their parents, which sometimes, might be true. If parents always give their children what they want, then that’s what they’ll always expect from the world.
“I’m one of those people who never begs for anything. I don’t get special treatment from my parents, they taught me to appreciate what I get because there are kids in Africa that don’t have anything, so I really don’t have anything to complain about. Some don’t even have parents to care for them. I’m grateful for everything,” Jack Sims, junior, said.
Some people on the other hand, were taught and treated a little differently. They know how to appreciate everything because not everybody is that lucky. Not everybody has something to call their own.
“I never take anything for granted. People like that are just plain selfish. I think they need to stop complaining that everything is not enough and just enjoy it. They should realize that everything they get is actually way more than enough, ’cause at least they have something,” Stewart Schultz, sophomore, said.
Always appreciate what you have. You might not think it’s enough, but if you were someone who has nothing then you would think differently. You don’t realize how good things are until it’s all gone.
