It’s today. They’ll arrive at the Blossom Athletic center, separate and pile in the Josh Davis Natatorium Interior, with all the other swimmers who have made it to Regions, and wait for their events. Relay team members junior Nick Spaulding, junior Curtis Roberds, freshman Austin Franke, Chris McCarroll, senior Mayela Garcia, junior Audrey Rocha, junior Yesleen Whispell and junior Julie Franke are the eight swimmers participating at Blossom today.
“They each have worked really hard this year. They’ve pushed themselves, set goals and competed well at Districts. I’m really proud of them,” swim coach and AP US Government and Politics teacher Caesie McHenry said.
The event starts at 10 a.m. and ends around 2 p.m.
“It’s definitely a step up from last [competition]. We had finished in the top 8 at District Prelims, then finished in the top 6 at District Finals,” Spaulding said.
