The Roosevelt Roughriders football team will enjoy a bye weekend with welcomed rest after beginning the football season with a mark of 6-2, 3-1 in district. The Roughriders are in a four-way tie for first place in District 26-5A with the MacArthur Brahmas , Madison Mavericks, and Reagan Rattlers.
The Roughriders will resume play on Oct. 29 against the Churchill Chargers. The Chargers are coached by a familiar face to Roughrider football fans, former Roosevelt Coach Glenn Hill. Churchill runs a pistol offense, which is modeled after the better known shotgun spread offense many teams use. The Chargers lineup defensively in the 4-3 defense with four downed lineman and three present linebackers. The game will be played at Comalander Stadium, 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
