TR Culinary students participated at the Region V FCCLA competition in Corpus Christi on Feb. 3 .
The team, consisting of Michael Anthony, Breyanna Garcia, Raul Gomez, and Jayden Stovall-Draper, was given a specific dish to create with a select group of products under a time limit.
”I was nervous,” said Garcia said. “We didn’t know what to expect.”
With 16 other competitors, they came fourth out of 30 in the Mystery Box challenge. Placing fourth means all of these students are eligible to participate at the state FCCLA competition in Dallas.
Each student was given 500.00 scholarships.
“I’m really glad we were given scholarships,” Anthony said.
