On Jan. 13 two groups made up of 631 students from Ed White, Krueger and Wood Middle Schools toured the campus and learned about different programs available.
During the time students spent here at campus, students were first welcomed by Principal Melvin Echard.
Students were then greeted with performances from student groups and the opportunity to tour the campus.
Performances by Dance, Avid, Debate, Band and others were some of the many offerings that the campus presented to next year’s incoming freshmen.
During the renditions, members of every performing group also spoke to students, as to why they should join them next year.

For more than one reason, Teddy Tours have always been important. These not only show students their home for their next four years, but they also make students familiar with the environment.
“I think it’s important so that eighth graders get excited about high school and it makes them more comfortable next year so it’s not not scary when they get here,” Lead Counselor Michelle Howard said.
With about 60 band members helping out to introduce students to our campus, many of these Teddy Guides enjoyed showing students their soon to be home, considering it important.

“It’s important because it introduces incoming kids to the environment and it’s either going to invite them in or scare them away. We hope the formal,” Senior Cary Carlisle said.
Other Teddy Guides helped out to show students how our campus changed their aspects on certain things.
“We want to enlighten kids coming into our high school because it has been the best four years of our life,” Senior Luis Gomez said.
