Sadly, Cassandra Clare’s City of Heavenly Fire is the sixth and last installment of the Mortal Instruments Series, which was published on May 27, 2014. With Chaos roaming the Nephilim, it’s the final battle between the shadowhunters and Clary’s own brother, Sebastian Morgenstern. With the help of her friends, what will be the fate of Clary Fray and her beloved friends be?

With Sebastian in the possession of the Mortal Cup, he transforms shadowhunters into creatures, having divide families and loved ones as his army grows larger with every waking minute. Even Idris the place where it’s the sanctuary of every shadowhunter cannot withstand Sebastian. When will this never-ending battle stop? What fate would cross the world?

Clare is known to be an urban fantasy novelist for young adults, best known for is The Mortal Instruments series. The Mortal Instruments series has six books to it including: City of Bones published on March 27, 2007, City of Ashes published on March 25, 2008, City of Glass published on March 23, 2009, City of Fallen Angels published on April 5, 2011, City of Lost Souls published on May 8, 2012, and the last book, City of Heavenly Fire.
The Infernal Devices has three books to it including Clockwork Angel (Published on August 31, 2010), Clockwork Prince (Published on December 6, 2011) and Clockwork Princess (Published on March 19, 2013), which is the prequel series that takes place in the Victorian era in London. There is a sequel series called “The Last Hours” to the Infernal Devices, but set two decades after Clockwork Princess. This series will also include three books called: Chain of Thorns, Chain of Gold, and Chain of Iron.
The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices also have many quotes referring to famous pieces of Victorian Literature like Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, and the works of Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Alfred Tennyson.
Clare also announced a new series called The Dark Artifices set in the same universe as The Mortal Instruments, but five years in the future. Some characters from City of Heavenly Fire will be in this series and will shift from the New York Institute to the Los Angeles Institute. There will be three books scheduled to be released next year in 2015, they’re called (First) Lady Midnight, (Second) Prince of Shadows, and (Third) The Queen of Air and Darkness.
Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, and Maureen Johnson have written a complementary series of ten short stories called “The Bane Chronicles” which is based on Magnus Bane, a character from The Mortal Instruments and that recounts his experiences. This series has been published over the course of 2013 and 2014 and has been on sale since November 11, 2014.
From Holly Black with The Spiderwick Chronicles and Cassandra Clare with The Mortal Instruments they announced on YouTube their new epic fantasy five book series called the Magisterium, the video was posted on YouTube by Random House Children’s Publishers UK. The duo had gotten together to write the Magisterium series first book called: The Iron Trial, and was published on September 9, 2014.
These book series except The Magisterium series, still ties to the shadowhunters and their journey to be the heros of the world.
