Shattered Dreams is a two-day event for students to see and learn the dangers of drinking and driving. The goal of the process is to help students make smarter decisions when it comes to drinking and driving, and to also help students connect with their parents or legal guardians about the subject.

“Hopefully this will be a very emotional event,” STAN counselor Werk Cook said. “I hope to save lives while taking these kids through this adventure.”
This event will be taking place during the second and third period of Feb. 27 – 28. The first day will show the students and parents a breathtaking accident caused by a drunk driver. The second day will consist of a funeral service for the victims, and later on there will be a trial for the accused drunk driver.
“I think it’s going to be a great turn out,” senior PAL volunteer Jenny Nguyen said. “It will spread awareness, and it will create a better impact on some students.”
PALS are volunteering with this program to promote awareness.
“This will be a great experience for our students, because they will be able to see how it feels to lose someone to such a powerful lesson,” said senior Edmee Colorado. Colorado won’t be able to participate this year, but said she hopes that this event will create a type of memory to where everyone will have a second thought about drinking and driving.
