Valentine’s Day…you’ve gotta love it, right?
Well, no…the main purpose of Valentine’s Day has been lost; historically it celebrates the martyrdom of a saint who arranged marriages. It seems out of place that we celebrate this as a bunch of fools kissing and eating chocolate like lovestruck baboons. Young people don’t even understand the true concept of love and them acting like they are in love is not only foolish in a way, but it also puts down those who do not have valentines.
It is unnecessary and all the designs and things are over the top. Why do we spend money on bears and candy? It’s just strange.
If people want to celebrate the holiday it’s fine, but why should we have a day for “love” when we can do it any day we want, every day?
