Eleven student artists from Mrs. Ferris’ and Mrs. Slaughter’s art classes entered the annual Western Art Show of San Antonio. Four students received a first place ribbon which qualified them to apply to the Western Art Academy in Kerrville, Texas. Frances Mesko’s art placed in the top 50. Her work will be on display at the 2014 San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.
Mesko said she felt special to know that she had done so well but felt she could have done better.
The students include (as they appear in photo) Ryan Grossnickle 2nd place, Andres Rios 4th place, Pete Martinez 1st place , Patrick Carlson 3rd place, Jared Rodriguez 3rd place, Samantha Valdez 2nd place, Jaycob Davila 2nd place, Christina Jones 1st place, Lexee Garcia 1st place, Lorena Cardenas 2nd place, and Frances Mesko 1st place.
