The Varsity Cheer team took top honors at Cheer America Capitol Cup.

The varsity cheerleaders received top honors at the Cheer America Capitol Cup Championship in Austin on Nov. 23. The team placed first in their division and received the title of overall Grand Champions in the school division. They were also awarded the Capitol Cup High Point award for being the highest scoring school team at the competition.
“It was a great accomplishment,” senior Robert Medina said. “We were not expecting it, but it gave us a strive to want to do more.”
The varsity cheerleaders will next compete at the Texas State Championship at St. Mary’s University on Jan. 12. UCA State Competition is Jan. 19 and nationals are in February.
