Theodore Roosevelt’s theater department is at it again with their upcoming play Electra, directed by Anthony Hardaway. It’s said to be about revenge and that’s the biggest give away about the play. This is the first time the theater is doing a greek tragedy not about a god, so it’s something new to the works.
Sophomore Weston Smith said the cast is really looking forward to crowd reaction, because the play is so different.
The play is expected to have about one hundred guests each night. It will show nightly through Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Black Box. The admission is $5.
Electra is the second play of the year, following Silvia, a student directed play by Weston Smith and Hardaway last month. This play was said to be about a dog that goes to live with a married couple, but ends up not getting along with the wife. And this causes troubles for the couple in the long run.
It ran Oct. 24-26 with an average attendance of 50 per night.
The next play to come is Fame, a winter musical by Chad Thompson.
