On October 28, the Leo Club inducted eight officers and 26 new members. Leo Club sponsor Lisa Alanis and Lion President Rick Jacques presided over the ceremony. All new members were given a certificate and pin. The newly inducted officers and new members stood and recited the Leo pledge to conclude the induction process.

“I want everyone to know that you get out what you put in,” Jacques said. “Be proud, be proud of each other, and recognize that.”
The Leo club is a youth volunteer group which is derived from the Windcrest Lions, a community service club. Leos and Lions Clubs are international. There are 46,000 Lion clubs with over than 1.35 million members. In total of Leos international there are more than 150,000 young adults in 139 countries.
The Lions presented to Principal Melvin Echard the Sartoinor Club Service to Men award. Every year the members of the Leos are asked to vote the “Leo of the Year.” The Leo of the Year is presented the Sartoinor Club Service to Men award also with a $500 scholarship.The school’s Leo Club chapter will present at the state convention on Nov. 8.
