Coming off a rainy tournament last weekend, tennis is getting ready for their MacArthur match today at 3:30 at Blossom.
“MacArthur is our goal for this year; we plan to take them down,” Coach Gregory Hilbig said.
He knows that they will be challenged skill wise, but they must keep a strong mindset to bring home a win. As the Tennis team prepares for the big match tonight they stay strong and stay hydrated. The tennis team has never taken a win against MacArthur, which makes this an even bigger game for the Riders.
“We have good training here, we even have coaches that come out from all over town,” junior Janet Carreon said. Carreon has won two of her district matches so far, and she is excited for the big match tonight.
“I got into tennis because of a friend, she told me to come out and try it, so I did and I loved it,” Carreon said.
She says that she wants to place and bring home another win for her team, which has all been conditioning for the event.
“I believe I can take a win tonight, I just have to play my hardest,” sophomore Maxwell Ulbert says.
He plans to give each and every second his best shot, and play his hardest. Though he has been conditioning every day to prepare, he says will be grateful just to place in the match tonight.
“Yes, I know I have the potential, but I still get nervous at times, I just remember to stay humble and give it all I got”.
