Students volunteered to donate blood on April 30 to send to West, Texas because of the explosion that happened there earlier in the month where 35 people died.

It was the second biggest blood drive this year. The biggest blood drive this year was in February. They would’ve been more blood donated, but since it was during TAKS testing week, it couldn’t happen.
There would’ve been as much as 120 students that were willing to donate blood, but some students were rejected. Student Council Sponsor Patricia Sewell hopes next year more students sign up to donate blood and there are more buses to get the blood send to wherever its needed.
