This past week on Thursday and Friday many members of boys and girls track have placed at district and are advancing to Area. In girls track E’kara Mitchell finished second in the shot put with a 39’3″. Ayanna Atkins is the District Champion in the shot put with a 39’8″ and second in the discus with a throw of 107’6″. Both athletes qualified for the Area meet. The 4×4 team: Alessandra Jefferson, Jonabelle Timms, Jeanna Mullen, Jessica Mullen placed in third with a time of 4:08. Kaneshia Moore finished third in 100 meter hurdles also qualifying for the Area meet.
In boys track advancing to Area Joshua Kindla qualified in discus. Chubaka Bahindwa is attempting the 1 & 2 mile run. Gabriel Graham is in the 110m hurdle. Kendall McCree is going into 200m hurdles. Steven Campbell qualified in pole vault. Jesse Reyna is going for the 800m and the 400m. Finally the mile relay will consist of the team of Jose Arredondo, Darius Blue, Will Porter, and Andre Winston.
The Girls and Boys track teams will be at the Area track meet on April 18 and19 at 4:30 p.m. at Heroes stadium.
