Track districts kick off tomorrow at Heroes Stadium.
The team is confident that they’ll do well. Many victories during the season have built their confidence. Their 4×4 relay placed first two weeks in a row, ending at fourth last week. However they adjusted the 4×4 about 3 times due to a team member; their third leg, acquired an injury. So they replaced him with another runner.
There 4×4 line is as follows, first leg; Andre Winston, second leg; Jose Arredondo, third leg; Will Porter, and their star player as their anchor Jesse Reyna.
“I believe that we will win districts and make it to regionals. All we have to beat is Johnson and Churchill and that’s not going to be a problem,” senior Jose Arredondo said.
Senior Ekara Mitchell has earned shotput honors throughout the season, and senior pole vaulter Steven Campbell broke the school’s old record, vaulting 13 feet 8 inches at a pre-district meet. He said he’s also hoping to make it to state.
