The Computer Science UIL team will be taking on regions April 19 and 20 at UTSA.

Placing first in the UIL district meet, the team dominated the competition with a total of 20 points leaving Reagan in second with 16 points and Johnson in third with 12.
“It is great that we will be going to regions being that it is only our second year as a team,” DATA senior Timothy Newton said.
While excited to compete at region, they haven’t set their goal at that level: they’ve got their sights on being the first team in district to go to state.
“This is a goal that our team has been working on all year long,” DATA Computer Science teacher and UIL coach Peggy Vines said.
Every Wednesday and Friday after school the Roosevelt Computer science team members get together to prepare for UIL regionals.
“I want to win this for Tim [Newton],” sophomore Elijah Abney said. “It would mean a lot since it is his last year.”
