The event encouraged participants to turn off all their lights, televisions, computers and other technology devices. Some even used only candles.
Vietnam saved 401 MW of power , it is equivalent to 28,800 USD by switching off lights during the 2013 earth hour.

While the plan of earth hour is only for one hour, some people did it throughout the night.
