Choir is having a concert practice on March 22 in the auditorium. It will be two weeks before UIL competition. The groups that are going to participate are going to be Jv and Varsity. The students that will participate in the concert auditioned and they were picked to be on the concert practice to go to UIL. Some of the songs that choir will sing will be in foreign languages. Jv will sing “Veni Jesa” by Cherubini, “Steal away” by Schram, “Chester” by Billings. Varsity will sing “Cantante hodie” by Lightfoot, “Esto les digo” by Lange, and “The Snow” by Elgar.
Choir UIL will be on April 10th. The concert that will be held on Friday at the auditorium at 6:30 to 7:15 PM.
“I’m excited about the concert, because I like performing”, sophomore Kaitlin Trujillo said.
The language for the song “Veni Jesa” by Cherubini is in Latin, while “Chester” by Billings is the original national anthem of the American Revolutionary war. Jv will be singing these songs.
“I hope choir will win at UIL, because we’re well prepared and sing [well]”, junior Izaiah Marroquin said.
For the songs “Cantante Hodie” by Lightfoot is also in Latin, while “Esto les digo” by Lange, the text is in Spanish. These songs Varsity will sing.
