Hailing from the big apple, Guards are a band of three named Kaylie Church, Ted Humphrey, and Richie James Follin. On Feb. 5, Guards released their new album “In Guards We Trust.”
The band takes a strong toll with with enveloping euphoric vocals and catchy beats making Indie rock in the most interesting of ways with unique vintage vibes in all of their songs. It’s a combination of sounds similar to Los Campesinos and Of Monsters and Men with a hint of pop variations like Phoenix. The album starts with with a dramatic overtone in “Nightmare” and it tells the story of heart break. The album moves through all the emotions in a relationship: getting over it in songs like “Ready to Go,” then being happy for that someone: “Heard the News” then to wanting them so bad: “I Know It’s you” and “Your Man” “Can’t Repair,” then uplifting in “Home Free” and slowing down of sadness “1 and 1”.
This album is a sweet collection of story available on iTunes for $9.99 and the Deluxe Edition for $11.99.
