Thursday after school, the Spanish club hosted a Salsa lesson, where memeber had the opportunity to have fun dancing or learning how to dance Salsa and gain expure and experience to the Latin Culture.
“It’s the first time we’re going to make this Salsa Dance, it’s going to be to have something fun to do and is going to be their first activity of the year,” Spanish club sponsor Nancy Becerra, said before the event.
The Spanish Club chose to have a Salsa dance in particular, because they think it’s a popular kind of music that students can relate to more and use what they know [how to dance] outside of school. There were also snacks available.
“There was about 20 people that came to the Salsa dance, including Ms.Murach and an ESL teacher, and Ms.Kacy,” Becerra said.
Becerra said she was pleased on how many people showed up to learn from the paid instructor.
“I think the first Salsa dance went very good, the kids had a of fun,” Becerra said.
The Spanish teacher also doesn’t think it could’ve been better, because the kids had snacks, took pictures, learned how to dance Salsa and Bachata, even though they didn’t expect Bachata.
