On Sept. 18, Lindsey Stirling, the one and only violinist to combine classical violin with dubstep and game-themed music all together, released her very first self-titled album, for $11.99. That same day, she released a music video to her new song, “Elements.”
Already, over 1,000 of her fans have bought her album on iTunes and have seen the music video on youTube, which has had over 1 million views and over 20,000 likes. This album is a huge hit. It’s been said over and over again by fans and reporters that “Elements” is the second best song she’s made, after “Crystallize.”
This album has a total of 12 songs, six are new songs (“Elements,” “Zi-Zi’s Journey,” “Moon Trance,” “Minimal Beat,” “Anti Gravity” and “Stars Align”) and the other six are all of her singles (“Crystallize,” “Electric Daisy Violin,” “Song of the Caged Bird,” “Transcendence,” “Shadows,” and “Spontaneous Me”). All of her new songs are more electronic, more hip-hop than ever with catchy vocalization in a few and of course, dubstep is still used in her songs but even more so to compliment the violin.
Her fans have been waiting for about two months for this album(which has been planned and been in the making for about two years) and all have said the same thing. They are not disappointed by her original, “thrilling,” “exciting and up beat as always” music. Now, the wait for the rest of her music videos to be released on Youtube and iTunes and also, her follow up album of all her covers that she has done. It will include “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Starships” featuring Megan Nicole, “Grenade” featuring Alex Boye’, Nathaniel Drew and The Salt Lake Pops and all her other covers.
As of Sept. 25, Stirling’s actual self titled CD came out in stores for $14.99. The money for the CD as well as the album on iTunes is definitely worth the money for those who enjoy and love electric, hip-hop, classical and dubstep violin.
