The first week of school, a student’s binder consists of seven sections. Each section of their binder is labeled with each subject and is neatly organized with every paper in its section.
Then, life happens. And with three-week progress reports out, students strugggle to maintain that organization.
“The first day when you show up, you’re the most organized because you show up with a new binder, dividers, pens– you’ve got everything you need and then as you meet with seven teachers through out the day and you get hand outs and you get papers,” Algebra teacher Carol Kaeser said. “Then you start getting assignments and its really hard at times to keep organized.”
The three-week progress report is a chance for students to find out how they are doing, before the six week progress report which determines eligibility.
“At some point you have to take everything out and organize,” lead counselor Michelle Howard said.
