In all schools, homework is part of every student’s life. Teachers who handout homework sometimes overdo it in the minds of students who claim they don’t have time to finish what is handed them.
Students that receive homework every day get stressed and sometimes won’t do their homework the next day or will stop doing it.
Supporters of homework say, “Homework teaches important lessons about time management and discipline. Dealing with homework each night can help prepare students for the rigors of the working world.” They also think that it is essential for students to reexamine lessons and concepts that they have learned during the school day.
The opponents of homework say,”Most students receive too much homework, which prevents their pursuit of other interests.”
Studies have shown barely any corrolation between a student’s academic success and the amount of time he or she spends on homework. Homework can also be physically unhealthy by causing stress, which has been linked to obesity, migraine headaches, and depression.
In the end, students should have less homework. Teachers believe that if they give homework to students, they will learn more or it will help bring success on test or quiz days. In my experience, it has really stressed me out.
