On April 20-22, 2012, thousands of youth and adults across the world will be participating in Global Youth Service Day, a movement dedicated to empowering young people to make a difference in their communities.
In San Antonio alone, there are over 10 volunteer opportunities with organizations such as City Year, Rackspace, Habitat for Humanity, Green Spaces Alliance, San Antonio Youth Commission and more. City Year is an education-focused, nonprofit organization that partners with public schools to help keep students in school and on track to graduate. In communities across the United States and through two international affiliates, this innovative public-private partnership brings together teams of young AmeriCorps members who commit to a year of full-time service in schools.
