Hit, run, and then a home run. It’s baseball season yet again and the Rough Riders are giving their best on the diamond.
The Rough Riders have played six games in just four days, but the players don’t mind all the playing time on the field.
“I like the game and it doesn’t bother me much missing out on (other) stuff,” Breanna Boykin, DATA freshman, said. Boykin spends a lot of time at the games supporting the players.
From little to big brother, players look forward to their games in a Rough Rider uniform. Especially, if it is their final chance to play high school ball.
“It’s my (last baseball season) at Roosevelt, so I’m going to make the most of it,” Barison Boykin, senior, said.
Playing for the first time in high school can be nerve wrecking for some, but not all. DATA freshman Boyd Spaulding says he enjoys the whole high school baseball experience.
“I’ve played before, so I’m not really nervous at all,” Spaulding said.
Above all baseball fans in District 26-5A and Roosevelt in general, are ready to watch America’s past time and hoping to see many home runs clear the outfield fence.
