Students Share Opinions About Spending Time and Money

Four hours just to buy a shirt? Does that sound like heaven or something
utterly annoying?
From hallway to hallway, students seem to have had enough walking let alone pacing the mall. Mostly girls love shopping, but few people in general enjoy the experience anymore.
Senior Cecily Moreno thinks that shopping stinks considering how time consuming it is. Moreno talked about how bad her experience was when she went shopping with her cousin for t-shirts.
“We spent all day, just so we could go to Hollister and only buy one shirt that is way too expensive. A shirt that you can get for five bucks at a thrift store,” Moreno said.
Moreno summarized that shopping is “not her favorite thing in the world”.
Secondly, holding a different viewpoint on shopping is sophomore Lionel Barrios. Barrios likes going to the mall and getting things is a bonus.
“To me, it’s really not about shopping. I just like to hang out with my friends. Otherwise, if you go alone or with your dad or mom, it’s just boring,” Barrios said.
There is a saying somewhere that states the most boring things can be fun with friends. A key point in shopping is that sometimes it’s not all about just buying anything, the experience itself can be rewarding.
Some truly do love going out and buying things and junior Sherri Chase is one of those people.
“I really love buying clothes, but I take my time. I don’t know why. I just like going to stores and finding nice stuff,” Chase said.
It can’t be a bad experience then, especially when it sounds like a hobby.
Shopping is different for various people. There are controversial things in this world that inspire debate and shopping is one of them. These three Rough Riders have shown their different outlooks on going out and buying from stores. Shopping can be a great, terrible, or so-so experience depending on the person involved.
