Rough Rider students are now entering the third nine weeks and working towards excelling in all classes. The third nine weeks is critical because juniors and seniors are preparing for TAKS and SAT tests.
Roosevelt students are all ready for the end of the nine weeks not just because it is for eligibility, but because students want to see if they made honor roll. Students want to see how they improved from the beginning of the school year till now. They have worked hard every day in the classroom and want to see results from the work they put in. The teachers are also ready for the nine weeks to end, so TAKS can start. Teachers are eager to see their students succeed by passing the TAKS.
“TAKS is coming up I don’t think I’m ready but I know I can pass my TAKS,” Oscar Gonzales, said.
Sports left in the school year include track, softball and soccer. Roosevelt students are supporting each other and going to sporting events. The track team is ready to compete and get a shot to win district. The soccer girls are ready to take that next step and go to the playoffs, and go far. Roosevelt students should go and support these athletes who have been working hard all year. Coaches are also ready for the nine weeks to end because they know the athletes will need to pass and be ready to compete in their sport.
“Track boys are all working hard in practice and putting in work everyday and putting in work in the class room,” Coach Boykins said.
The last two weeks are usually the last week students try and keep their grades as high as possible. Some students who are procrastinators will do things last minute and try to pass but here at Roosevelt students are on top of their grades. The advanced placement classes getting ready for their testing. According to teachers and students there is much to be done this third nine weeks. Students are ready to go into fourth and final nine week of the school year.
“Ap physics class is stressing me out but im doing good so far I’m ready for this nine weeks to end already,” Bo Serros,said.
Roosevelt students are ready for this nine weeks to end whether they are in sports or in other activities. They are ready to pass the TAKS and their SATs and AP exams. Students and teachers have been working long hours in class rooms and hope positive results will show on TAKS testing days. The fourth nine weeks is coming up and the students are prepared for this last nine week of the school year.
