Members of the Roosevelt High School University Interscholastic League team gathered at 
MacArthur High School on Jan. 21 to compete against some of the best academic talent in the state.
Aly Miranda, a member of Roosevelt’s Big Stick Newspaper staff, finished 10th place in Feature Writing. Tim Newton finished with a third place trophy in Computer Science-Veteran. In Novice Computer Science, four members of the Roosevelt team finished in the top 10. Christian Tschoepe won a second place trophy and Colby Chappell won a fourth place medal. Austin Alcoser finished seventh and Alexander Goodman was ninth place. Other UIL Roosevelt participants that placed included:
