The San Antonio Spurs are getting ready to make a run for the NBA title again. Spurs are second in the western conference this season.
Even with one of their top scorers being out with a serious injury, the Spurs just adjust. Manu Ginobili is hurt, so Danny Green steps up and Tim Duncan has matched his high point scoring of the 2010 season.
“Spurs are playing great basketball,” Corey Bedelle, girls track coach, said.
The Spurs are trying to have a successful overall season by making the playoffs. The Spurs were upset by a young Memphis team last season, who took the Oklahoma City Thunder to seven games in their series. Spurs got a revenge game in first game of season and beat down Memphis.
“Spurs are doing good this season,” Paul Rodriguez, sophomore, said.
The Spurs were suppose to not be a “dominant team” and prove critics wrong again. The Spurs also went back to the defense first mentality using Kuwai Leonard to lock down defenders the way Bruce Bowen did. The Spurs have experienced guards in Danny Green, Corey Joseph, Richard Jefferson, Gary Neal and Tony Parker.
“Spurs won a good game against Orlando the other night,” Brady Wyatt, boys basketball assistant coach, said.
