Roosevelt Track and Field athletes are ready for their season to start and have been putting in work in practice every day.
Roosevelt has been successful in track in previous years and the athletes are honoring that tradition by working at their event hard every day.
“We have been working hard in practice. The whole team, myself included is ready,” Jesse Gonzales, junior, said.
The girls team has been very successful in running Amateur Athletic Union events, so they are in shape all year long. Some of the girls ran recently at a track meet held at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
“I’m ready. I’m have ran at a track meet at LSU with my AAU team,” Alessandra Jefferson, junior, said.
The track and field coaches are excited because they will get a new sprinter whose been varsity track since he was a freshman now he is a junior very experienced runner. This runner transfered from Robert E. Lee and is ready to compete for Roosevelt track.
“Yes, we got a new addition who has been varsity since he was a freshman” Boys Track Coach, Corey Bedelle, said.
In conclusion, this Roosevelt track team is ready to compete and add a new runner who is proven successful and can help this already successful Roosevelt track team become even better. Roosevelt track will be ready come February.
