High school and college credits, done. Chosen college, done. Application for college…need to get. Ready for graduation…maybe?
Seniors are making their last year of high school count with memories and hard work. With all the required credits and projects needed, they are making their way towards graduation and college. For most, it’s been a blast and the senior year will be a breeze. For others, their last year will be and is stressful, frustrating and filled with harder work.
It’s a bit stressful but it’s okay,” Carlos Valdez, senior D.A.T.A. student, said. “With all the applications, essays and what major you want to go into.”
Majors are probably the most stressful thing about high school, especially senior year. The fact that a student must choose what they want to study and go into is hard. But, for some students, they already know for sure what they want to major in.
“I’m majoring in art. More specifically, photography, still life, digital animation,” Valdes said.
It may still be first semester, but the second semester is creeping closer than we think. Not to mention graduation. High school and college credits are also something to think about as the year goes on.
I’ve taken a lot of PAP, AP, advanced classes for credits,” Ian Stewart, senior D.A.T.A. student, said. “But I’m really excited for graduation because it shows my success and all my hard work.”
Graduation, the big event. The huge finale. It’s the moment when students say goodbye to high school and hello to the real world, college, jobs. Some dread it, others become very excited.
“I’m a little nervous. After graduating, it means leaving high school, getting a job,” Sapphire Neece, senior D.A.T.A. student, said. “And it means finally facing the real world.”
What happens after high school can be overwhelming and scary. It always is, but students suck it up and go onward.
“After graduation, I’m going to wait two months and start college in the fall semester,” Stewart said.
Waiting is another big thing. Some students prefer to wait until the August deadline for college while others wait a little longer, just to be more prepared.
“I’ll start college a year after I graduate. I’ll have more time and I can apply for the next year after,” Neece said.
Senior year is such a huge thing. Successful students will be walking out the doors of high school with tons of memories and start something new.
