The Lady Rough Riders soccer team has been steady putting in work everyday on the field in practice. There are big expectations from each member of the team, especially since last year they were one game shy versus Churchill of making the playoffs. This season will be a disappointment to them if they dont make the playoffs.
“This group of girls have high expectations,” Coach Kathryn Muha said.
The Roosevelt girls soccer team has a lot of young varsity players with experience. Having so much youth is good because they have 13 returning varsity players. They only lost three seniors last year, but this team is still strong according to coach Mary Phillips. The Lady Riders want to take that next step of glory.
“This group of girls understood that they are capable of taking that next step in the making the playoffs,” Phillips said.
The girls soccer team knows that all the work they are putting in practice day in and day out is starting to pay off.
They remembered what it was like to watch other teams play in the postseason and feel it is their time to join that elite group of teams from District 26-5A.
“This season, the girls will have no excuse to not take that next step, since they know they are capable of making it,” Phillips said.
To sum this all up, the Lady Riders are motivated according to Muha.
Every practice is hard, but they know the playoffs is the goal. Support them along with the boys team with your cheers at their games.
