Mr. Sam Glass has been teaching at Roosevelt High School for six years and says enthusiastically that he still loves it.
Glass has a degree in Multidisciplinary Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio and other assorted certificates. He brings to the classroom his experiences as a research lab assistant, a bookstore corporate manager, a freelance Web designer, and a Texas Master Naturalist. Arts and Science Building Room 212 is where Glass teaches both Chemistry I and PreAP Chemistry.
Glass openly admits that science has been a lifelong enjoyment for him and sharing his knowledge with others is also something he enjoys doing.
“Ever since I was little I was in love with science and knew for a fact that I’d be great at teaching it,” Glass said.
Glass can identify with many of the students at Roosevelt because he has shared experiences.
“I chose Roosevelt (over other teaching opportunities) because this is the type of environment I grew up in and I’m very pleased with my students, past and present.”
Roy Hodge, a 16-year-old junior knows Mr. Glass from being one of his many students in a given day. Hodge said that Mr. Glass’s class is one of the ones that a student can look forward to every day.
“I really, really think Mr. Glass is a very good and intelligent teacher,” Hodge said.
Glass, has a solid sense of humor and according to many of his students, he still knows how to make the most of each minute in the classroom with lessons that will make a lifelong impression.
