Three students shared their thoughts on the upcoming SAT on Oct. 1, and whether or not they care that is coincides with Homecoming.
The difference between the SATs and Homecoming is glaringly obvious: one is full of pressure and the other is looked forward to. While they do occur at differing times, it’s still a funny coincidence.
“Yeah, I just didn’t want to take the SAT on my birthday,” said Alyssa Henry, senior, regarding the Nov. 5 testing date.
“I didn’t even know it was Homecoming.”
Henry laughed and said she’ll wake up for the test and go to sleep until mom wakes her up to get dresses, you’re going to Homecoming. It’s your senior year.”
Speaking of senior year, I probably shouldn’t have waited so long to sign up for my SAT. Alyssa agrees that procrastination can make school a game of catch-up, but is doing her physics homework this morning.
“Oh, the SAT. I already took it last year but my score was not what I had hoped for,” said Carlos Valdes, senior.
“Are you going to Homecoming?” I asked him. “No. No date anyway.”
Senior Dominique Kennedy also shared thoughts on the upcoming SAT.
“I forgot to sign up earlier so my mom made me sign up for this one,” Kennedy, said. “Looking forward to blowing the math part.”
Pretty sure every senior just wants to get this year over with, get all that SAT stuff done with, and all the scholarship and college application forms completed and sent. Homecoming seems like a nice little break from homework…and stressing over homework that’s unfortunately so last week.
