There are many sporting events at Roosevelt High School that can be attended. Attending supports our athletes and provides for school spirit. Roosevelt has an award-winning athletics program.
“Us seeing ya’ll in the crowd gives us that extra spark; it gives us that edge over the other teams, ” Ishmael Moore, senior varsity football player, said.
More students and fans at the games is better for the team and the school. Athletes that have been interviewed have said the team supports help them play to their full potential.
“We are going to play the best of our abilities for ya’ll,” Kelvin Taylor, junior varsity football player, said.
It has been mentioned by students that by watching other varsity athletes at your school you are kind of like a family; you go to their games, they go to yours.
“Varsity sports…it’s a brotherhood and sisterhood and we’re all at some aspect entertainers and we go to support each other,” Seven Ellis, senior varsity football player, said.
If more students went to our sports events, whether football, basketball, soccer, or volleyball, maybe we’d feel like a united community.
