Ipods, iPhones, computers and all sorts of other electronics are getting update all the time. When will the race to get the newest gadget ever stop?
Every time you get something, a newer and better version seems to come out a month later, leaving you frustrated. Case in point, the Apple iPad.
A lot of people managed to buy the first iPad recently and are now faced with the dilemna of whether or not to buy the second version because it is supposedly a lot better. Your iPad has become “outdated”. Every one wants the newest thing and in the process this can cause quite a stir among consumers.
“I get asked a lot, ‘Why is my iPod so old?’ I answer them, I’m sorry, I’m not rich,” Jocelyn Mariquin, Johnson High School junior, said.
People tend to pick on others for not having the most up-to-date stuff. Some simply can’t afford to keep up with the latest tech trends, and other people who do this should respect that fact.
“I get the new stuff for my birthday, although by then something new is out,” Jeslen Zamora, senior, said.
As mentioned, something new is always coming out, and the race to get newer and better things can be unfair and uncool sometimes.
“I work for my stuff, but if something new comes out, I refuse to get it, unless it’s a massive change,” Ally Garza, junior, said.
Most “new” products, are not really that new. They change up one thing and call it new, when it’s still pretty much the same thing as the older version of the product.
The main point is, if you’re thinking about getting something new, you might want to look into it and do research, and find out how really new it is before paying for it.
