TAKS tutoring is an opportunity every student should take so they can get help on what you don’t understand in order to pass each of the tests.
Many students agree that the current TAKS tests have a lot of challenging questions and preparation is essential for success.
Students will have a much better chance of knowing what kind of questions will be on the tests if they go to tutoring than if they do not attend. One reason why it really helps to attend tutoring is the fact that some of the questions change every year and these sessions will keep students updated on what the newer versions of the TAKS test require them to know.
“I love going to TAKS tutoring because when we go over the stuff I didn’t understand, I understand it so much more,” Abby Ramiero, junior, said.
There is TAKS tutoring available for every subject that is tested. The teachers help you and are able to give you more individual instruction than they can in a normal classroom setting. The TAKS tests are requirements for graduation, so it’s important that students take advantage of this extra time to learn additional test taking skills from teachers in the classroom.
“I’m glad I only have to take two TAKS tests, which are reading and math. Reading is easy for me but math is my weakness. Now that they have math TAKS tutoring, I’m starting to understand the objectives I didn’t understand before,” Andrea Reyna, freshman, said.
Even if you don’t understand everything the teacher is going over, you will probably get a much higher score if you take the time to go to tutoring.
“I understand every subject, but I love going to TAKS tutoring because it helps me understand a subject more than I already do. I’m really trying to get a high grade on TAKS,” Corey Gonzalez, junior, said.
TAKS tutoring is available at several classrooms across campus, to inquire about these sessions students need to contact their Math, Science, English, or Social Studies teachers for exact locations and times.
