A lot of people often wonder what is in the food they eat every day, but few bother to really research it. Students in high school and college are in increasing numbers starting to turn to organic foods as their primary choice.
Organic foods are ones that are complete natural without any chemical additives. Such foods are sold in limited quantities at HEB and are also available at Sun Harvest Grocery Store.
Most food companies have been “hush hush” when it comes to the ingredients in their foods while others clearly print them on their labels. After doing research it becomes clear that the majority of those in the dark about what is in their food is actually adults.
“I personally think that the things companies do to their products are just disgusting,” Dottie Lawson, junior, said.
Lawson didn’t specify what practices she thought were disgusting by food companies, but the use of pesticides and food altering chemicals are bound to be at the top of most people’s list.
A lot of different ingredients go into the making of food. Trying to make a quick buck is the motive of those food companies that are irresponsible and don’t care that they put a lot of people at risk for health problems.
“As long as things taste good I guess that’s all that matters because people eat bad food no matter what,” Tenisha Pickett, junior said.
Some people just seem not to care that the food they are consuming in their bodies is full of toxins and is very bad. Teenagers these days happen to spend most of their time eating at fast food restaurants. Often ones that fail local health inspections.
From the way things are going and the high amount of incidents of food poisoning, it seems that a growing amount of people would rather have a better knowledge now of what is in their food.
