The 2011 Roosevelt Prom is approaching for juniors and seniors on May 7 and these students are looking for the perfect someone to take with them as a date or just as a friend.
This year’s theme for the Prom will be “A Midnight Summer” and everyone is eagerly anticipating what will be a evening they will remember their whole lives. Girls will express themselves mostly in a beautiful fancy dress or a summer dress, while the boys will be wearing mostly tuxedos and suits. The Omni Hotel in San Antonio is the anticipated host venue for this year’s dance.
Senior Morgan Spaulding described the perfect date for Prom as someone who is going to goof around and just have a lot of fun.
“I think the perfect date for me would be someone who I know is going to have a great time with me. Since it’s my last year, I want to take someone who I’m going to have memories with. Memories that will last till I’m old,” Spaulding said.
While Spaulding wants someone she knows she’ll have fun with, junior Christian Pastrano doesn’t need a date for Prom to be special.
“I really don’t need to worry about finding the perfect date, my girlfriend is the perfect one for me. I am happy to just have her (in my life),” Pastrano said.
While Pastrano is worry free about a date, senior Jason Chamness like most students is still searching for the person that’s just right for Prom.
“I haven’t found the right girl yet,” Chamness said.
Chamness has used a technological approach to Prom taking a survey on Facebook.com. He later admitted that “it was a mistake” to do so, but didn’t specify why.
A lot of people are worried about finding the perfect prom date, but many others are just satisfied with what they have.
