After two successful big budget films, Transformers director Michael Bay is at it again. The much anticipated third movie in this series entitled Transformers: Dark of the Moon will appear on the big screen on July 1.
Transformers is one of the most successfully marketed toy and entertainment franchises in history, comparable to Star Wars, Star Trek, and GIJoe in terms of lasting success among several generations of fans. There is several twists to the newest movie including the fact that Megan Fox, who starred in the first two movies will not be appearing in this latest installment. Those who like consistency can take solace in the fact that Shia LaBeouf and Tyrese Gibson will be back to help the hero Autobots battle the villainous Decepticons.
“I think it’s going to be a good movie, but I just don’t like how Megan Fox won’t be there anymore,” Jiovanni Garcia, sophomore, said.
Fox, according to most viewers, was a good actress and the movie might not have the same success without her. However, not everyone feels that Fox was that good to begin with.
“I’m glad she won’t be there anymore because she was terrible, and I don’t think she was a good actor,” Roxana Zavala, junior, said.
Many Transformer fans seem to think Fox was better in the second movie than in the first one, and that her looks greatly improved as well.
“It won’t be as original, but I think it’s still going to be a good movie,” Amanda Elizabeth, junior, said.
Despite the fact that Fox will not be in the movie, the third movie in this series is expected to be one of the highlights of a summer that will have several blockbuster big money films.
