It’s already March, which means summer is a mere three months away, and it seems this school year has blazed by fast with the end almost here, yet that end of the school year has its share of challenges that await students including the spring TAKS tests.
The end of the year is probably the hardest time for most students. A time when hard work and months of learning are put to the test literally along with the stresses that come along with taking the TAKS test.
“Yes, I think the second semester is way harder than the first one. I hate all the tests we have to take. The TAKS tests just seem too long,” Eric Hernandez, sophomore, said.
Tests, tests, and more tests. So much to study for in so little time it seems. The spring TAKS tests are in full swing. Some Roosevelt students stress about them while others are playing their cards right by studying.
“I hate all the tests, but the best thing to do is to study for them so you won’t have to stress about failing. If you study than at least you know that you have a good chance of really nailing and doing the best you can on the test,” Micheal Hartz, junior, said.
Even though tests are a big part of the school year, it’s not the only thing Rough Riders worry about. Not everybody has a chance to see all the people they want to see when school is finally over.
“To be honest, I’m not really stressed out about the TAKS and all that. I know I’ll do good. What I’m really worried about is not getting to see any of my close friends this summer. I wouldn’t want to come back next year and everything between us change,” Marie Johns, junior, said.
This school year has jetted by and it’s almost over. Everybody seems to be stressing about tests or maybe something more important to them. The best advice for tests is to study your hearts off to ease away the stress. As for everything else, just make the best of the time you have left.
