Staff Reports
Because of an overwhelming response last year the Northeast Independent School District has been given the opportunity again this year to partner with Meals on Wheels, Schools Spring to Deliver Meals. The event will be held the week of Spring Break March 14-18.
Students, parents, and employees are invited to participate. Meals can be delivered in groups as well as by individuals. The coordinators of this event ask that if students will be participating without an adult present they must be 17 years old to drive to deliver meals.
Volunteers should arrive at the Meals on Wheels location at 4306 NW Loop 410 at Babcock between 9:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. There will be a 30 minute orientation and then volunteers will be given a particular route to deliver meals. The delivery of meals should take about an hour.
If you are interested in participating please contact Amanda Benton at Meals on Wheels to sign up. You may contact Amanda at 735-5115 or by email at volcoorchristianseniorservices.org. When you contact Amanda please mention you will be volunteering for NEISD for Schools Spring to Deliver Meals.
