Traveling is fun and a relaxing thing to do. It can expand our creativity and let us try new things we never thought we could, as well as getting out of our comfort zone.

I have recently been accepted into university in California, a school where I get to study my career and work with professionals. moving to a new state can be a terrifying situation, depending on the way you decide to look at things. For me it is not only a sense of freedom, it is also a chance to see and explore outside of Texas. Yes it can be difficult to leave loved ones behind, but that’s the circle of life and being on your own. After traveling to New York last year with the fine arts department, I absolutely fell in love with the city. I got to see things that only appeared in movies and were heard about in books, such as Time Square, World Trade Center, Central Park and just everything that Manhattan had to offer. To be mentioned, it was also my first time on an airplane. So when I decided to apply to school in California, I never paid attention to the negative side of the situation, because it didn’t and it still doesn’t exist for me. Focusing on the future and where I want to be in the next 10 years is what keeps me motivated everyday.
Many people don’t like living far away from home and their families. You have to leave at one point in your life, might as well be now than later (at least to me.) Different states have different laws, yes you will have to learn new streets, change doctors and banks, but that’s growing up and becoming an adult. If you are a person who wants to see new things and not stick to the same everyday routine, don’t let anyone or anything change your mind about it. Every state has something negative about them, excuses should not be made up or be told. You know where you wanna go and the first step on getting there, do it.
