During the first quarter of the TR vs. Clark game, at Heroes stadium, #82, senior David Pavon, was blocking when Clark’s running back ran into him from behind causing a big pile up on top of him. Pavon tore his ACL, meniscus, and has a chondral fracture, all on his right knee.
“I felt really bad because the team was depending on me and it felt like I let them down,” Pavon said.
Pavon was supposed to start playing again on Oct. 21, in time for the game against MacArthur, but during a practice he hurt his right knee again.
“Since I can’t practice with the team I’m constantly in the weight room trying to regain strength on my knee.” Pavon said.
He has been working long and hard in the weight room just to get the chance to be able to play again.
“David’s a great football player he has a lot of tools, excels as far as knowing the schemes and what we’re trying to do. He also has some physical assets and the position to be able to build those things very well.” Coach Manning said. “It was definitely a boulder to our football team, he’s somebody that we counted on to help us do some of the things we liked to do before on our offense on the way we’re built. He’s stuck around on being a good teammate and still continuing his role as a captain and making his contribution to the team.”
Pavon was able to play in the last game against Reagan. “It felt good, I missed most of the season, so being out there with all of my friends it was nice to experience one last time.” he said.
He got to play in his senior game.
