Seventy-eight seniors are graduating this year with a GPA of 100 or higher, qualifying them for Summa Cum Laude. This is the biggest group of Summa graduates in Roosevelt history. By taking Pre-AP and AP classes and earning high grades, students were able to end up with averages over 100.
“[Being a Summa Cum Laude] is about overcoming procrastination,” said summa candidate Preston Norris, “The biggest thing is communication with your teachers.”
Being a Summa takes a lot of hard work and dedication, since each student has to keep high grades in all classes, even challenging AP and Pre-AP ones . The students’ efforts will be recognized at a reception April 6 and will also receive regalia to wear at graduation.
